Privacy Policy
Effective 6 September 2026
Buxie is a Chrome extension and this website. This page says what each one does with your data. The short version: the extension collects nothing, and the website collects almost nothing.
The extension
What it does. Buxie draws a small bunny that follows your cursor. When you hover a button that says Add to Cart, Buy Now, Checkout, or something similar, she changes expression.
What it stores. One setting: whether Buxie is switched on or off. It lives in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. It is never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.
What it reads. To decide the bunny's mood, the extension looks at the text and attributes of the button under your cursor, in memory, at the moment you hover it. It does not record that text, keep a history, or know what you bought or which sites you visited.
What it sends. Nothing. The extension makes no network requests. There is no server, no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising.
Permissions. The only Chrome permission it asks for is storage, for the on/off switch. It runs on every http and https page because shops are everywhere and there is no reliable list of them. That reach is what lets the bunny work; it is not used to collect anything.
The website
Hosting. buxie.dev is served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers receive your IP address and basic browser details in order to deliver the page, and may keep short-lived logs for security and operations. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Analytics. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, does no fingerprinting, and does not follow you across other sites. What we see is aggregate: roughly how many people visited, from which country, which page referred them, and whether they were on a phone or a desktop. Not who.
Cookies. None. The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
Fonts. Self-hosted, so no third-party font service sees your visit.
Feedback and the waitlist. The FEEDBACK and Join the waitlist forms are handled by Formspree, a form service. It receives what you type (your email address, and your message if you sent feedback), forwards it to support@buxie.dev, and keeps a copy in our Formspree account. If a submission fails, the page offers to open your own email app instead. If you join the waitlist, we keep your address until Buxie launches, email you once to say so, and then delete the list, including the copy at Formspree.
If you email support@buxie.dev, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you and to improve Buxie, and for nothing else. Mail to that address is forwarded by our domain registrar's email forwarding service to a mailbox we control. We keep messages for as long as we need them to handle your request. Email us if you would like yours deleted.
Children
Buxie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, but it seemed worth saying.
Chrome Web Store disclosures
- Buxie does not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
- Buxie does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose.
- Buxie does not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. If the extension ever starts collecting anything, that will be stated here and in the extension's release notes before it ships.
