Support
Buxie is a free Chrome extension. If something is wrong, or you just want to say something, email support@buxie.dev or press the FEEDBACK button. Every message gets read and answered, usually within a few days.
Getting started
Install. Buxie is on her way to the Chrome Web Store and is not available to install yet. and you will get one email when she launches. She will work in Chrome and other Chromium browsers such as Edge, Brave and Arc. After installing, reload any tabs you already had open; extensions only load into pages opened after them.
Try her out. Hover a button on any shop that says Add to Cart, Buy Now or Checkout. She turns mad. Move away and she calms down. The home page has a demo if you want to see it without shopping.
Common questions
How do I turn Buxie off?
Click the Buxie icon in Chrome's toolbar and flip the switch. She disappears from every open tab immediately; no reload needed. Flip it back whenever you like. If you do not see the icon, click the puzzle-piece button in the toolbar and pin Buxie.
Why does she show up on every website, not only shops?
Shops are everywhere and there is no reliable list of them, so she follows your cursor on every page. She only reacts to buy and checkout buttons. Everywhere else she is just along for the ride. She never blocks, hides or changes anything on a page.
She did not get mad on a buy button.
Two common reasons. First, the button lives inside a payment frame from Stripe, PayPal, Shop Pay or Apple Pay. Those frames are sealed off from extensions, so she cannot see into them. Second, the button's wording is not on her list. She reads the words on the button, and some shops use unusual ones. Send us the site and we will teach her.
She got mad on something that is not a buy button.
She goes by the words on the button, so a link that says "checkout" on a hotel site, for example, will set her off. Tell us where it happened and we will tune her.
I do not see the bunny at all.
- Check the switch in the toolbar popup is on.
- Check Buxie is enabled at
chrome://extensions. - Reload the tab. Pages opened before you installed Buxie do not have her.
- She only appears on http and https pages. Chrome's own pages, the Chrome Web Store, new-tab pages and PDFs are off limits to every extension.
Does Buxie slow down pages or read my data?
No. She is one small image that follows your cursor, plus a listener for what you hover. She collects nothing, stores only the on/off setting, and never connects to the internet. The privacy policy has the full account, and it is short.
Does she work on my phone?
No. Chrome on phones does not run extensions, and there is no cursor for her to follow.
How do I uninstall?
Right-click the Buxie icon in the toolbar and choose Remove from Chrome, or go to chrome://extensions and click Remove. That deletes the one setting she stored. Nothing else was ever kept.
Reporting a problem
Email support@buxie.dev or use the FEEDBACK button. The most useful things to include:
- The address of the page where it happened.
- What you expected and what you saw instead.
- Your browser and version, if it seems relevant.
Ideas and requests are welcome too. She is a small project and gets better mostly because people write in.
